How to Find Patients for Your Agency

Taught by Mariam Treystman, CEO and Cofounder, Smart Business Solutions, Inc.

For home health agencies, finding enough patients to meet Medicare requirements for a deemed status accreditation survey can be challenging. To be eligible for an initial Medicare Certification survey, an agency must have provided care to a specific number of patients. This means patients initially may have to be serviced pro bono at a significant cost to your agency. For established agencies that already have a Medicare provider number, growing your patient census can also be difficult. In this master class, you will learn how to address these challenges with proven tips, tricks, and methods and also will get valuable information on avoiding regulatory land mines.

Mariam Treystman has been in the home health industry for 20 years. Besides consulting for the past 15 years, she has also owned home health agencies, hospice agencies, and a therapy staffing agency. Mariam is the CEO and cofounder of Smart Business Solutions, Inc., the largest provider of consulting services for home health and hospice agencies in California.
