Annually, the ICD10 code set is updated. As always since ICD 10, there are numerous updates, primarily to have more and more specificity. This year there 395 new diagnosis codes, 25 deletions, and 13 revisions. There are numerous changes to tabular instructions and some to the Coding guidelines.

If you missed the Oct 1 start date for using 2024 codes, you will not want to miss this webinar. this is the time that clinicians, coders and billers must have the current codes so that claims going back to Sept 2 are not rejected. any rejected so far must be resubmitted with the new codes. Here are examples of what we will go over: Sepsis, Parkinson’s disease, osteoporosis with fractures, hypertensive chronic kidney disease. Also, expanded V and W codes, including specificities on accidents and injuries. THere are also many additions to Z codes. You will note that there are many times with the 2024 ICD-10 Code set that you will discontinue use of the “Other” codes in each category, as there have been so many new codes with more specificity.
